It's been a long time...I shouldn't have left you!
Wow! I cannot believe it's been 8 months since I last posted!! To make it clear just because I haven't posted doesn't mean I haven't still been continuing my journey.
I am still on it and I have found love! :)
I met my fella in march, maybe that's why I haven't had time to post but it's been a busy few months. I will post from computer tomorrow to give a full update!

Couple of weeks catch up!
Well, I have not updated for a few weeks...that doesn't mean to say I haven't been on it! I have just not found a moment to update and then next thing you know a few weeks have flown past.
I am so glad January is over and done with, I really dislike January, such a depressing month. Everyone gets sick, nobody has any money and it's still cold and dark. February is here! Even though it's turned a little but colder...the nights are starting to stay light a bit longer..yay! This month is a bit shorter and Spring is on the horizon :)
So, where was I with my weight loss?? Oh yes, the last time I wrote I had put on 1.5lb! I have sorted my head space out since then, spoken to my consultant (and friend) and I am so back in the game.
I'll do my measurements first, as they are to hand. I measured myself again a week ago which was a month since the last.
Bust: 46.5 inch (lost 0.5 inch in a month)
Waist: 40 inch (lost 1.5 inch in a month)
Hips: 51 inch (lost 1 inch in a month)
So, I can tell that the gym sessions I am doing are also working. Now, for the weights!

I was quite pleased with that, lost what I had gained the previous week so I felt I was back on an even keel.

I got my 3.5 stone award! I was very happy, the little awards and recognition are what keeps me going. I keep all of them and share with my friends who are very supportive.

I am ok with that, I wish it was more. I have a feeling my weight loss is slowing a little, I am getting a but worried about that. I am very impatient and would love this weight to fall off quickly...but then wouldn't we all! If it was that easy everyone would do it.
I had a good talk with my consultant and she suggested swapping some foods around, upping my protein, limiting potatoes and making sure I start with a good breakfast...such as porridge and berries. I have rose to the challenge.
I decided to do extra at the gym, instead of my normal 2 hours on a sat and 2 on a sun I did Friday night too...over that weekend I did 7.5 hours at the gym...I was flying!

I have to say I was completely gutted by this loss! All that work I did in the gym I felt was for nothing. Debbie gave me a good talking to and said whilst the scales may not have shown it I had probably lost inches, hence why I decided to measure myself again (see above).
I wasn't on the verge of giving up but I was quite disheartened, I felt I had gone from someone doing excellent at weight loss and flying to someone who was struggling and trudging through it, even though I had not cheated on my diet!
I am persevering, I took some recent pictures of myself and showed them to people I had not seen in a while, their words of enncouragement spurred me on and I was back to my old self. Although I only went to the gym on Saturday and Monday ha! I admit I did do a spot of Just Dance on the Wii though.

I am so pleased with that result, I feel like I am back in the game. Whether it is my gym work catching up with me or my food optimising or a mixture of the two, I am just happy my hard work is showing results again.
Only 2lbs to go until I get to 4 stone loss! Once I get to that milestone I am treating myself, back in the day a treat would have been chocolate cake or something similarly calorific..this time I shall be treating myself to a massage, I think I deserve the pampering.

Bad week
Well, this week has been a pretty bad week! Not because I've cheated and been eating loads, but due to one thing another it's been awful! Children poorly, then it was my turn - a trip to the emergency dentist for me followed by anti-biotics. So, whilst I haven't eaten bad food, I've not eaten much fruit and veg either which is completely vital! I've not been too hungry and when I have been I've been in too much pain to eat a lot like a big meal, so been having small snacky foods, which has obviously not done me any good.

I am a bit gutted but still trying to put it into perspective, I lost weight over Christmas when I had allowed myself a 3lb gain so in the back of my mind I've still done ok, it's just a bit dis-heartening when you have a gain.
I shall pick myself up, dust myself off and go for it, my tooth is feeling a bit better and only have two more days of anti biotics so I will hopefully be back on the loss train next week!

Weigh in!
Well Monday has arrived and it's the first weigh in of the new year. I'm ok but a little apprehensive just due to the fact it hasn't been a full week since last weigh in..only 5 days.

Quite a low number but a loss all the same! Considering I did so well last week I keep bearing that in mind. That's 5lbs lost in just under two weeks and over the Christmas period too...I'll take that and run with it thank you :)

Halloween!! Tonight I wanted to stay to class but my sister wanted to have a little halloween party and take the kids trick or treating - I did too of course but I was torn. This would be the first time I didn't stay to what is called Image Therapy and I was worried that I may lose focus. But after talking to my sister, mum and Slimming World consultant, I realised its ok to go off and do your own thing, as long as you keep your goals in mind. When I got home my consultant, Debbie, messaged me and told me I had won Slimmer of the Month for October!! Yay! I was very pleased with myself.

A triple whammy tonight for awards! I got my Club 10 - which is an award you get when you have reached a loss of 10% of your body weight, I got my 2 stone award and I got Slimmer of the Week again! I went home on top of the world :)

I was a tad disappointed with just half a pound, but it was still a loss...I looked back at my losses and realised I have lost every week since I started apart from one gain of half a pound! I felt better.

Another award! I had my 2.5 stone award, Debbie says she's very proud of me and I'm doing really well. I think I agree. The class are asking what I am doing to do so well, I told them I am following the Extra Easy plan and when it comes to having Syns I make myself a syn box each week with most of my syns piled into it. Things like low syn snacks and chocolate - my favourites being Boots Shapers range of crisps, popcorn and chocolate bars...yummy! I'm not really a lover of alcohol so none of my syns are wasted on that, the rest of my syns go on things like gravy, sauces, roasties etc.

Doh!!!! Half a pound off 3 stone before xmas! I was a bit gutted to be completely honest. I was nervous enough about xmas food as it was but even more so now. For some reason I though if I hit the 3 stone I could relax a little. But I guess in a way it made me more aware of what I was going to be eating over the next week.

I did it! 3 stone off...and not only that I lost 4.5lbs in Christmas week, I was so shocked...not because I'd been terribly naughty with food, but I had allowed myself a couple of treats. I took Debbie's advice and allowed myself the treats on Christmas day and Boxing day but went straight back to food optimising.

Today (1.1.12) I am now looking forward to the New Year and the new me! I will be going back to the gym, I've not been for quite a few weeks after having a terrible chest infection which affected my asthma..I couldn't have done treadmill and cross trainer coughing and spluttering all over everyone.
I feel so much better now, it's back to work in a couple of days and it's weigh in tomorrow. I have a feeling this year will be a good year for me...and by the time my birthday comes round again in August...I will be a completely different person!

Award! I got slimmer of the week for that week, I was so pleased. I also feel I broke through my six week barrier. Someone told me that if you can get through six weeks on a new eating plan then you've cracked it. It's now starting to feel more like a habit than a struggle. Not that I am struggling with the plan, I follow the Extra Easy plan and it is what it says! You can eat sooo much! I love my potatoes and pasta and rice, but I equally love my chicken and steaks, on Extra Easy I can have both...as much as I like. As long as I fill up on what they call Super Free foods (fruit and veg) then you are going to lose weight. I am enjoying fruit and salads more so I am definitely eating my 1/3 of superfree.
